This mission statement was agreed by the Parochial Church Council in 2003 and continues to guide the church’s development.
We are a Christian community that:
- seeks to place the worship of God at the heart of all its activities
- rejoices in the fellowship that is our inheritance as members of the body of Christ expressed in love and mutual support
- participates openly and honestly in learning about our common Christian journey so that we may be better equipped to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our local and wider community
- recognises the importance of biblical teaching as a foundation for spiritual growth
- wants to engage creatively, through practical service, with the community of Meads, winning the right to tell people about the Gospel
Our aspiration is to establish a church that:
- reflects its local community in all its ages and social groupings
- creates windows of opportunity for individuals to meet with God
- is a happy, stimulating and spiritually alive place where everyone is welcomed and feels valued
- is also a place where something of the holiness of God is felt
- has the character of a family that cares for each age group
- offers healing and reconciliation with the challenge of spiritual growth for every member of the community
- listens to God
