This Committee aims to encourage people in the church, and makes contact with the community of Meads. Events include coffee mornings, Eat & Speak lunches, outings and the annual Vicarage Garden Party.

PARCHE stands for Pastoral Action in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly.
We have teams of people from St John’s Church who visit a number of local residential homes. They lead a short time of worship which includes: singing hymns, reading the Bible, talking and praying with residents.

We meet regularly in various homes to study the Bible and relate our understanding to our lives. Everyone welcome.

Lunch Club

The Lunch Club meets on Thursdays at 12.30 pm in St John’s Parish Hall, from October to May. We provide an excellent meal and social contact. It is open to residents of Meads.

T-Pot

An informal group, especially for the bereaved, that meets on the last Monday of each month at 3.00 pm. Do join us for a cup of tea.

Coffee-Pot and Paperback Library

Every Friday coffee is served from 10.00 to 11.30 am in the Parish Hall, with a paperback library available. These are pleasant opportunities to enjoy a cup of coffee in a friendly and informal atmosphere, and to borrow from a wide and interesting selection of books.
Age Concern is usually present to offer computer training and advice.

Liturgical Dance Group

This Group meets most Wednesday evenings at 7.00pm at the church to explore the use of dance in worship. New members are always welcome; if you’re interested please contact the Church Office for details.

ANNUAL CHURCH MEETINGS
These will take place on Tuesday 13 April, at 7pm in the Parish Hall.
The Annual Parish Meeting, at which the Churchwardens are elected, will be followed immediately by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, which reviews the past year at St John's, approves the financial reports and holds any elections needed. All members of the church are encouraged to attend.

The MOVEMENT TO MUSIC CLASS for adults is proving so popular that it has transferred to a larger space at the back of the Church: Tuesday mornings, 10.30 - 11.30am. The classes are free and open to anyone who'd like to join in. If you're interested, please phone the Church Office for more information (01323 738671).

The ELECTORAL ROLL is being updated. The current roll is on display in the cloisters and in the back of the church. If your name isn't on it, but you'd like to be added, please fill up a form and hand it in; you are eligible to join if you live in the parish or have worshipped at St John's for the last 6 months. If your name is already on the current roll, you don't have to fill up another form.
