Activities

Home Groups

These are an integral part of church life here at St John’s. Currently we have over a hundred people belonging to ten groups, meeting either in the afternoon or in the evening. Members appreciate being part of a small group, not only to get to know and care for each other, but also to discuss the ways in which the Bible’s teaching is relevant to everyday life in today’s world.
We are always eager to hear from people who would like to join a home group, and we are keen to create new home groups.

Connexions

This is a social gathering for new or ‘nearly new’ people at St John’s, but we also extend an invitation to any in the community who would like to know more about the church and meet some of the congregation. Connexions gatherings are held three times a year in February, July and November, usually late on a Sunday afternoon. The event lasts about an hour, during which wine and canapés are served, and we hear something about the church’s activities and have the opportunity to talk and ask questions.
Do join us!

We have teams of people from St John’s Church who visit a number of local residential homes. They lead a short time of worship which includes: singing hymns, reading the Bible, talking and praying with residents.
